The gritty BBC drama, Peaky Blinders is partly filmed right here in the Black Country. Many people may not know that crucial scenes are filmed at the Black Country Living Museum (BCLM). This gem of an attraction has always been one of favourites in the local area. The period drama set in Birmingham after World War 1 is about gang wars in the area at this time.
247 Cars has seen a noticeable increase of taxi journeys to the BCLM over the last couple of years and one of the reasons is the filming of this iconic show. Taking full advantage of the popularity the blinders, BCLM have put on Peak Blinders themed evenings in what they call “immersion entertainment”. The Express & Star, our fantastic local newspaper has reported this great article this week showcasing what they staff at BCLM experience when filming is going on.
The stars of the show Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson who play Tommy and Arthur are very comfortable in our local museum and apparently ask lots of questions about it when they are there.
If you would like to visit the Black Country Museum, to go their website and get details.
Once you have decided what date you want to visit 247 Cars can take you there in one of our taxis. 247 cater for groups up to 16 in one vehicle, but also have 4 seater, 6 seater and 8 seater cars and minibuses in their fleet. With over 400 taxis in the Black Country there is no need to book a taxi we can supply on the spur of the moment also.
BCLM recently announced a multi-million pound expansion of the site and we are sure Peaky Blinders popularity has something to do with it.
